Litter from Bere Regis through Dorchester area

Dorset Council has received this complaint from a member of the public.

I am writing to you as a constituent to express my anger at the unacceptable levels of roadside litter I encounter on my regular commute between Lymington and Dorchester.

The entire route, particularly the verges along the A337 and the A35, has become a national embarrassment. It is not just an eyesore for tourists visiting the New Forest and Jurassic Coast; it is a hazard to local wildlife and a clear sign that our statutory "Street Cleansing" duties are being neglected.

I am asking you to formally raise this with National Highways and the local Waste Authorities. We are paying for a service that is visibly failing.

Please can you confirm what steps you will take to pressure these agencies to clear the backlog of waste?
