A5 Longshoot Junction

Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 10:36, Friday 9 January 2026

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8655178.

There needs to immediately be a yellow box and cameras put at this junction. Today vehicles travelling South on the A5 were queuing from the Higham Lane island, when finally arriving at the traffic lights it became clear as to the reason for the delay. Vehicles entering the junction from the Longshoot were blocking the main arterial road so that when the lights changed to green for the A5, vehicles could not proceed as the junction was totally blocked by the vehicles coming from Nuneaton. if there is a clear Yellow box with cameras and the appropriate signage, warning of fines, then that would be a simple, quick and easy solution to this daily serious and dangerous issue. Vehicles travelling north on the A5 are swerving left to try and get round the traffic blocking the road, and vehicles trying to turn into the Longshoot from the A5 are also blocked by the vehicles blocking the road junction.
