One side of carriageway flooded

Reported via desktop in the Flooding/drainage (NH) category anonymously at 08:40, Friday 9 January 2026

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8653793.

Flooded between the signs warning of potential flooding at the top of a hill. One side of carriageway completely covered. Locals know to go on to the other side of the carriageway. Non-locals are going through and flooding their engines. Speed limit is 50mph so they are assuming this is a normal puddle and discovering too late this is a bad flood. There is no street lighting in the area so this will get dangerous once the sun sets, also once it freezes and becomes one big ice patch.

Updates

  • Drain still blocked, large flood yesterday across whole of road, this flooding caused an accident 2 years ago and has still not been sorted properly,
