Hole with metal pipe sticking out in layby

Reported via mobile in the Pothole (NH) category anonymously at 09:36, Thursday 8 January 2026

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8645398.

On walking from St Leonards Hospital to Lidl, I noticed a dangerous square hole with a metal pipe sticking out of the centre of it in the road surface of the layby. This hole presumably once had a cover, which is missing. It will ruin somebody's tyres if they drive over it. The road surface looks as if it is subsiding at this point. It's beside St Leonard's Farm, after St Leonards Hospital and before Pinehurst Road (on the other side) if heading towards Ferndown
