Light timing vs yellow box grid westerly direction

Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 19:27, Tue 30 December 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8607696.

When entering the roundabout from the east travelling west you go through the lights at Grove Lodge vets. There is then a yellow box grid that allows only one car before the lights heading north out of Broadwater. Those second lights are often red for 30 seconds or more meaning only 1 car can queue after the Grove Lodge lights (due to the yellow box grid). The second set of lights need retiming to NOT stop the westerly flow after Grove Lodge lights. This currently causes unnecessary queues.

  • Thank you for making your report.

We have asked our inspection team to attend this location and assess the issue.

If any work is needed, they will arrange for this to happen. Should no immediate work be required we will continue to monitor this during our regular inspections.

Although we always aim to complete repairs as quickly as possible, timescales do vary as we try to minimise disruption to customers by combining activities into single closures and always ensuring the safety of our people.

    Kind regards,
