Dear Highway Agency, The phasing of the traffic lights on the M27, Jct 3 are out of sequence. Travelling from Southampton Docks to tge roundabout there mis a queue of traffic as you approach. The lights change to green and the next lights approx 150 metres later turn to red and so on to the next lights. The not only causes tail backs at each junction, there is also a safety implication. As i pulled around the roundabout and stopped just after the corner due to traffic, somone behind had to break hard where they didn't expect to be stationary. There is also an environmental impact with the number of vehicle engines idling, fuel and fumes emissions. For many years this has never been a problem with traffic lights turning green in sequence to ensure traffic clears. I would appreciate if you could check and resolve this problem.
