Noise complaint YET AGAIN
Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8557367.
This is the 2nd time in a many months that I am making a noise complaint about work being done on this road which is next to a housing estate. It is currently almost 1am and it is extremely noisy outside from chainsaws and woodchippers. I was told this wouldn't happen again and it is. There's no reason why this is being done in the middle of the night. This is a big inconvenience to people who have to work the following day. I will be consulting the local government ombudsman about this as I was told this wouldn't happen again.

Thank you for making your report about the noise from roadworks on the A36. We're truly sorry that you've had to report this issue again. We understand how frustrating this must've been for you.
We carry out the majority of road works overnight when traffic flows are lowest. We do try to keep noise down, but some activities, like chipping, are unavoidable.
We want to learn from this and reduce disruption wherever possible. We have reprogrammed the outstanding shifts to be undertaken at times that will be less disruptive.
