Dangerous Junction

Reported via mobile in the Road surface (NH) category anonymously at 00:30, Thu 11 December 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8531667.

I reported this to Norfolk County Council but they informed me that you are the responsible body: Whist travelling on the A47 west towards Kings Lynn, at night in wet conditions it was my intention to turn right onto the B1153 Gayton Road. However it was impossible to see where the junction was due to the glare on the wet road of uncoming traffic and the lack of street lighting and a lit bollard at the junction. The white turn right arrow painted on the road and road marking at the junction were impossible to see due to the wet road and the car headlights. I therefore had to guess where the junction was to be able to continue with my journey. My wife, who was some 30 minutes behind me in her car told me that she too had extreme difficulty in establishing where the junction was. In our opinion, the junction should be better lit with street lighting and a lit bollard installed as it is very dangerous. Happy to talk this through with you.
