Pothole

Reported via mobile in the Pothole (NH) category anonymously at 21:06, Wed 10 December 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8531260.

Dear National Highways Team,

I am writing to report a dangerous pothole on the **M6** and to notify you that it caused damage to my vehicle on **13 November**.

While travelling on the M6 on the above date, my vehicle struck a pothole that was unavoidable due to traffic and road layout. As a direct result, my tyre became flat and required replacement. The incident caused significant inconvenience, as well as an unexpected financial cost.

I have recently checked the same stretch of road and it appears that the pothole is **still present**, posing an ongoing hazard to other road users.

**Details of the incident:**

* **Date of incident:** 13 November * **Location:** M6 southbound between junction 3 and 2 * **Damage caused:** Flat tyre requiring full replacement * **Current condition:** Pothole still present as of my most recent observation

I request that this pothole be inspected and repaired as soon as possible to prevent further vehicle damage or potential accidents. Please also advise on the process for submitting a **claim for the cost of the tyre replacement**, as this damage resulted directly from a defect on the highway.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response.

Kind regards, Sandeep Kaur
