Right hand lane heading towards Cannock Wolverhampton Road reads straight on but should read right turn arrow for A5 linkway retail Park. Middle Lane is marked for Cannock this confusion results in many near misses. Urgent action neaded please. Lines clearly marked once on island.

Thank you for raising this concern regarding the lane markings approaching the roundabout at Wolverhampton Road towards Cannock and the A5 Linkway Retail Park.
Please note that right-turn arrows are not permitted on roundabouts. This is a safety measure designed to reduce the risk of vehicles travelling the wrong way around the roundabout, which could lead to serious collisions.
The current layout, where the right-hand lane is marked as “straight on” and the middle lane is marked for Cannock, is intended to guide traffic correctly onto the roundabout. While we appreciate that this may cause some confusion, the markings on the island itself provide clear directional guidance once vehicles have entered the roundabout.
We will review the signage and road markings on the approach to ensure they are as clear as possible without compromising safety standards.
