A roadwork sign metal A frame has fallen and is now half on the carriageway and causing drivers to swerve to avoid it.

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8515209.

A roadwork sign metal A frame has fallen and is now half on the carriageway and causing drivers to swerve to avoid it. As per the screenshot is just past the M5 northbound slip in the first lane for A376. It has been slightly sticking out for a few days but now is properly on the carriageway.. It will be able to be pulled back from the verge. It is 60mph limit here and wouldn’t be a good result if a driver did hit it. Many thanks

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways regarding the redundant traffic management equipment. We will arrange for one of our local inspectors to investigate this. Where we have identified redundant equipment, this will be removed. However, in some cases we do leave items in place for future use. Some isolated cones may also be in place for a specific purpose that may not be clear to passing vehicles. Kind regards National Highways
