Road surface is extremely uneven

The road surface on the slip road between the M4 Westbound at J10, joining the A329(M) Eastbound, is extremely bumpy and feels dangerous. There are numerous cracks appearing. Further to this, the previous repairs are poor quality and have actually made the problem worse, as they serve as large bumps. This slip road needs urgent resurfacing. I see this has been reported for several months now by other users, however no action has been taken.

Updates

  • Thank you for making your report. We’ve got work planned to extend the life of the concrete sections on the M4 J10 slip roads, subject to Department for Transport funding. This is expected in 2026–2027 but could move to 2027–2028.

    The work will fix defects, though it might not always make the surface feel less bumpy. Please be assured we’ll keep the area safe and monitored until the improvements are complete.
