Collapsed manhole - Broadway Northbound

Reported via mobile in the Structures (eg bridges, fencing, noise barriers) (NH) category anonymously at 16:41, Sunday

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8483056.

Location- left hand lane, northbound on Broadway at junction with Lydia Becker Way within the traffic light controlled area.

Collapsed manhole/ inspection shaft. Cover has sunk around 3-4 inches below surface of road and surrounding asphalt has dropped.

Manhole cover bangs if driven over suggesting that it is loose. Currently dangerous if driven over as can affect steering or cause damage to vehicles. Concerned that it could potentially collapse completely if left in its current state.
