Parking on footpaths

Reported via mobile in the Pavement/footpath/cycleway/bridleway issue (NH) category anonymously at 10:24, Sun 30 November 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8481714.

At number 93 Brighton Road there is constant on footpath parking which is causing a dangerous situation. The people living in this house, it is a HMO and since they have moved in it is a constant issue which means that pedestrians using the footpath have to walk out onto the A23 which is as you know is a very high accident hotspot. Any parents with prams or buggies, any wheelchair users or anyone using mobility aids are in serious danger from walking out onto this road which has a very high volume of traffic which is usually fast moving and this stretch of road has had seven accidents since January this year. Something has to be done about this, it is a complete and utter arrogance for these people to be parking on this footpath constantly like this and forcing pedestrians out onto this road in order to go round them.
