White doted lines

Reported via mobile in the Faded / Hard to see (NH) category anonymously at 07:44, Fri 28 November 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8474880.

On the approach west bound. Towards Marshmill’s fly over and slip road. Please can there be larger thicker dotted lines (between lane 1 to 2 ) half a mile or more before the split. I use this road daily and people change lanes last moment causing an issue. The lines that are there are very slightly different size but not big enough to show up on approach to show people that, hang on I’m in the wrong lane on the approach. Required to change lanes in a safe manner way before the split in road. Please please do what you can. Thanks.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways.

All road markings installed on our network are governed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions legislation 2016, which specifies the design, colours, and sizes required for markings on the Strategic Road Network.

At this location, the recommended width of the marking is 200mm. We'll review the dimensions of the existing markings and, if appropriate, consider whether the width should be increased.

    Kind regards
