Traffic light sensor not detecting motorcycles – Ashby-de-la-Zouch A511 large round about at early morning

Reported via mobile in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 15:27, Thu 13 November 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8415200.

Location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/ SeR36v7p8S7mXeCn9 Description: I am motorcyclist and it frustrates me having to wait another vehicle to come for the light to go green. The traffic lights at this junction do not appear to detect motorcycles waiting at the stop line. When a motorcycle stops on its own, the lights fail to change, suggesting the induction loop or sensor is not picking up smaller vehicles. This causes unnecessary delays and can encourage riders to take risks to trigger the change.

Could you please inspect and adjust the detection sensitivity or settings so that motorcycles are recognised reliably?

Observed: multiple times during when road is quiet after midnight

Thank you for your help.
