No cat eyes and faded road markings

I drive up the a34 between Winchester and chievley multiple times a week for work - this road is in bad condition. Lots of the road has faded/no road markings and no car eyes - this is very dangerous for night driving

I confirm that the cats eyes and red, green and amber reflectors have been missing from much of the A34 between Chieveley and Winnal for at least 10 years, especially on the southbound carriageway. Since traffic is so heavy, the use of main beam headlights is impossible at night and driving is rendered dangerous, especially in mist, fog and rain, due to the absence of so many cats eyes, red, green and amber reflectors.

It’s alarming that such a critical safety feature has been missing for over a decade, especially given the volume of traffic and the challenges of night driving without high beams. This isn’t just inconvenient; it’s a serious safety risk that deserves urgent attention from National Highways.

I can also confirm the lack of cats eyes is a huge issue and safety risk when driving this road at night. Highways please sort this; it has been unacceptable for far too long.

I completely agree with the other posts — the lack of cats’ eyes and clear lane markings on the A34 between Winchester and Chieveley is a serious safety issue. At night, especially in wet weather, it’s incredibly hard to see the lanes, and with heavy traffic you can’t safely use full beam. It’s shocking that such a busy stretch of dual carriageway has been left like this for so long. This needs urgent attention before there’s a serious accident.
