Speed restriction signs

Reported via desktop in the Abandoned Materials (NH) category anonymously at 11:41, Thu 6 November 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8384086.

The signs have been abandoned since February. Locals who know that there are no road works tend to speed towards cars slowing down.

Updates

  • There’s a break in the barrier hence why the restrictions are still in place

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways regarding the traffic management equipment.

In some cases we do leave items in place for future use. Some isolated cones may also be in place for a specific purpose that may not be clear to passing vehicles.

On the A27 in this area, a temporary speed limit has been installed until repairs to a damaged parapet can be completed. The reduction in speed is to avoid any further accidents involving the public or any more damage to the parapet. We’re looking to complete a permanent repair at the earliest opportunity.

    Kind regards National Highways
