Working unsafe

Reported via desktop in the Abandoned Materials (NH) category anonymously at 12:39, Tue 28 October 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8347817.

I’ve noticed on several occasions that contractors have been working along the A590, between the Askam and Dalton roundabout and the Ulverston Road roundabout—a stretch of road with a 60 mph speed limit. Unfortunately, there appears to be no signage warning the public of the works, nor adequate safety measures in place for the contractors themselves. The vehicles in use include pickups towing wood shredders, and the only visible protection consists of around six traffic cones. This setup is extremely unsafe—not only for the contractors but also for passing motorists. I’m very concerned about the potential risks involved. Could you please look into this matter and get back to me as soon as possible?
