There are give way markings on the cycle path at the entrance to pike hills golf club. they are faded and fard to see. also there are no signs prior to the junction so cyclists travelling at speed arrive at the junction and are unable to stop as they reach the actual give way. the club has signage at the entrance advising motorists leaving the club to beware of cyclists from both directions. but it is cyclists who fail to observe the give way that is a problem. we have had a couple of near misses and one slight accident in the last couple of months. can the markings be repainted and signage put on both sides of the apptoach to the junction yto warn cyclists earlier.

Thank you for contacting National Highways.
We'd like to update you about the entrance to Pike hills golf club give way markings on cycle path for cyclists being faded.
Unfortunately, there aren’t any permitted signs that we could use to reinforce the give way on the cycleway. Anything facing mainline traffic also creates a risk of drivers misinterpreting it.
We can however confirm a job has been raised to refresh the lining at this location, with any grass/vegetation cut back to make the junction standout more.
Kind regards
National Highways
