Overgrown vegetation obscuring view

Reported via desktop in the Overgrown or obscuring view (NH) category by Alexander Guiver at 13:38, Sat 18 October 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8311411.

At this location (A31/Dullar Lane crossroads) the verges on both the A31 in both directions (particulalrly th hedge immediately east of Dullar lane) and Dullar Lane are extremely overgrown which is reducing visibility significantly. This is a very dangerous junction at the best of times (there have been a number of accidents here over the years) so this needs to be dealt with as soon as possible as it has become dangerous to cross or join the A31 at this location. Please devise a timetable/system to keep the A31 hedges trimmed short enough to enable Dullar Lane users to check for approaching traffic in both directions all year round, thank you.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways.

Our inspector has completed a safety inspection on 23 October 2025 and checked the Dullar Lane Junction eastbound and westbound approaches from the county roads onto the A31 and can report the forward visibility onto the A31 is at its maximum, therefore, no action required at this time

    Kind regards National Highways

State changed to: No further action
