M62 leading toward Ouse bridge.

Reported via mobile in the Sign Obscured (NH) category anonymously at 06:36, Friday 17 October 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8306104.

I was traveling in the left hand lane on the M62 approaching Howden junction. There was the outer stand/surround of a road sign in the middle of the lane. With the colour being black and it being early morning I did not see the obstruction. I drove straight over it on the passenger side of my vehicle and it’s caused damaged to my front end and side skirt.

I’m very upset and in shock over this as I’m very proud of my vehicle and always go out my way to keep it damage free. Now due to lack of motorway maintenance and surveillance I have a damaged car.

Is there anything that can be done to resolve this lack of care from the roadwork company in question.

May I add the weather was very calm with no wind so it’s clearly fallen of a truck.

Hopefully this can be resolved, thank you in advanced
