NH street lighting just before A2/A229 slip road starts not working

Reported via desktop in the Not working (NH) category anonymously at 15:35, Wed 15 October 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8299731.

Street lighting on M2 eastbound just before A2/A229 slip road starts not working, these are the columns on the motorway just before the KCC lighting starts. The whole slip road was scheduled to close on Monday night for 'lantern replacement upgrades to LED' according to NH website and causeway one network. When I drove past the slip roads were indeed closed but no lighting replacement works were undertaken? Are LED replacements scheduled to be undertaken on the M2 and if so, when, as a lot of the light fittings don't work. Many thanks

Updates

  • Thank you for your report. The LED replacement scheme for National Highways street lighting assets has only recently commenced on the M2. This work will be carried out in phases over the coming weeks and months. Please note that all planned activities are subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances or the reallocation of resources to other priority areas across the network if required. Kind regards, National Highways
