Sunken manhole cover

Reported via desktop in the Road surface (NH) category anonymously at 15:24, Fri 3 October 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8248863.

I reported this months ago and as yet there is no sign of anything being done to rectify it. The manhole cover southbound A5 past the petrol station has broken and dropped and is several inches below the road surface - car dip down sharply into it if they drive over it. It will cause car tyres to be punctured and as it is a fast stretch of road, it is dangerous and needs to be fixed asap.
