Large amount of litter on all slip road verges

The slip road verges in all directions at this busy junction are covered in a large amount of litter. Why do you let these get into such a state? You have a legal duty to keep them clear of litter. I regularly drive across Western Europe and they somehow manage (maybe they use some sort of magic) to keep their similar roads spotless. Our roads would not look out of place on the outskirts of Lagos. I dont even know why I'm bothering flagging this issue because you will say you will check this area and (surprise surprise) nothing will be done!

Littering by people is, unfortunately, a behaviour that has a big impact on some parts of our roads. We aim to keep our roads as tidy and free of litter as we can. Our litter picking is carefully planned to try to minimise the impact it has on road users and the safety of our people.
Litter picks often require lane closures, which are disruptive to traffic flow. To help reduce the frequency of this disruption, where we can, we usually combine our reactive litter picks with other maintenance work which can result in what appears to be a delayed response.
