Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8230077.

Multiple flags have been added to lamp posts along this section of the A47, causing distraction as a driver, and going against the government issued rules on flag flying (https://www.gov.uk/ government/ publications/ flying-flags-a-plain-english-guide/ flying-flags-a-plain-english-guide#a-flags-which-do-not-need-consent) Have been present since the weekend (26th/27th September)

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways about flags.

We have passed this to one of our local inspectors to confirm that this is on our property. Safety is our priority and we do all we can to protect those who use our roads.

Items such as flags attached to a bridge could pose a danger to motorists on the road below and so may need to be removed for safety reasons.

The Fix-my-Street platform is purely a reporting tool for defects. If you wish to make a follow up enquiry or a complaint: Please use this link to send your enquiry / complaint info@nationalhighways.co.uk
