Loads of road work signs / frames left behind by National Highways

Reported via desktop in the Abandoned Materials (NH) category anonymously at 16:20, Fri 26 September 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8219334.

Following National Highwayd recent overnight closure of the A5 for cutting back of foliage, a lot of the road closure signs and / or frames have been left behind along the length of the overnight closure. This is a very regular theme. It's a shame as it would have given the signage guy's sat in their vans hour after hour on their phones and bored sideways something to do.

Thanks

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways regarding the redundant traffic management equipment. We will arrange for one of our local inspectors to investigate this. Where we have identified redundant equipment, this will be removed. However, in some cases we do leave items in place for future use. Some isolated cones may also be in place for a specific purpose that may not be clear to passing vehicles. Kind regards National Highways
