Blocked kerb drainage

Reported via desktop in the Flooding/drainage (NH) category anonymously at 14:04, Mon 22 September 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8198292.

Kerb drains appear to be blocked with silt/mud and this has caused localised flooding/ponding water in recent inclement weather.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways.

We can advise that we have maintenance planned to clear out the kerb drainage at this location.

Although we always aim to complete work as quickly as possible, timescales do vary as we try to minimise disruption to customers by combining activities into single closures and always ensuring the safety of our people.

With regards to the silt build up, the sweeping of the A66 would fall under the responsibility of the local authority, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council.

A link to their website is provide below: https://www.stockton.gov.uk/

    Kind regards National Highways
