Lack of crossing for school children using buses

Reported via mobile in the Crossings that may impact people with a disability (NH) category by Rosamund Dal-Molin at 02:36, Sat 13 September 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8159212.

The bus stop for children travelling from Corton does not have an island crossing or oedestrian crossing nearby which leads children attending Benjamin Britten to dangerously risk crossing the road every day. The two crossings located at Gunton and the Beefeater are too far away from the Foxburrow bus stop for those travelling on the Coastal Clipper from Hopton and Corton. They need a crossing from the Foxburrow bus stop to get over to Weston Road.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways.

If we are able we will incorporate any improvements into planned activity on our network. We plan this work many months in advance so you may not see changes for a considerable period.

Larger changes to our network are developed often years in advance and our Equality and Diversity teams are involved in evaluating each scheme. Your feedback will be reviewed whenever we propose work in this area.

For some of our planned improvements you can search in your region on the Our Roads section of our website. Where consultation is taking place that opportunity will be found here.

    Kind regards
