Two flags on motorway bride

Reported via mobile in the Flyposting (NH) category anonymously at 08:39, Fri 12 September 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8155092.

Two Union Jack flags on motorway bridge crosses over the M5 towards Kempsey common. Riding horse and horse spooked at flags causing major safety issue for myself and horse. It’s dangerous and irresponsible on the motorway bridge to not only the highway but all users if the flags were to come loose. What3words location: squish.series.remotes

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways about flags.

We have passed this to one of our local inspectors to confirm that this is on our property. Safety is our priority and we do all we can to protect those who use our roads. Items such as flags attached to a bridge could pose a danger to motorists on the road below and so may need to be removed for safety reasons.
