Updates

  • Thank you contacting National Highways regarding the flags you’ve observed. At National Highways safety is our priority and we do all we can to protect those who use our roads. Items such as flags attached to a bridge could pose a danger to motorists on the road below and so may need to be removed for safety reasons. Where we receive reports that flags on bridges may be a hazard, we assess them on a case-by-case basis. If they are judged to present a risk to road users, they may need to be removed for safety reasons. The information you have provided us with has been passed to our regional colleagues for that assessment to take place. Thank you again for contacting us and I hope that this helps with your enquiry. If you have any further enquiries regarding any other National Highways related issue, please visit our website where information on all National Highways policies and procedures can be found: https://nationalhighways.co.uk/ .
