Fence fallen down

Reported via desktop in the Structures (eg bridges, fencing, noise barriers) (NH) category anonymously at 12:54, Tue 9 September 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8141711.

The pedestrian barrier between the A43 and the public footpath which runs right next to it has fallen down entirely. There is now only the crash barrier between the road and the path. This footpath is busy, used by dogwalkers and many with small children. It's far too dangerous to leave exposed - a child or dog could far too easily run on to the road. A substantial fence needs to be put in place.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways about flags.

We have passed this to one of our local inspectors to confirm that this is on our property. Safety is our priority and we do all we can to protect those who use our roads. Items such as flags attached to a bridge could pose a danger to motorists on the road below and so may need to be removed for safety reasons.

    Kind regards

    National Highways
