Persistent and sudden flooding

Reported via mobile in the Flooding/drainage (NH) category anonymously at 23:07, Wed 3 September 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8116304.

This junction consistently floods when it rains, even if it’s just a few hours of moderate rains. There are no flood warnings, zero lighting and as it’s coming straight off the 47, there is often zero warning that it might be flooding. The water will spill into the carriageway, which is a short distance after it goes from dual- single carriageway, and causes a hazard for all involved. The lack of appropriate drainage in the immediate surrounding adds to the problem and the lack of street lighting means those who don’t expect it turn off the 47 and hit a wall of water in the pitch black darkness, which poses a serious risk to drivers.
