New illuminated pedestrian crossings not functioning

After weeks of roadworks and no doubt tens of thousands of pounds spent, the two new pedestrian crossings nearest the Welburn junction have never been illuminated at night. The two new crossing near Crambeck junction work perfectly. Did someone forget to switch them on?

We can confirm that the equipment on the four traffic islands originally installed a few years ago have recently been replaced. The solar powered lighting was not performing as intended, so we have replaced this with an electrically powered solution.
The two islands closest to Crambeck have now been connected to the electrical supply and are functioning as expected. However, the two islands further west, near Welburn Crossroads, are still awaiting a power connection from Northern Powergrid. While we had hoped this would be completed during the installation, we’ve been informed of delays in securing the necessary wayleaves which has impacted progress.
As a result, these two islands will remain without illuminated beacons for at least a few months. We are actively working to expedite the process, but this aspect of the project remains outside the direct control of National Highways.
