Un approved closure

Reported via mobile in the Abandoned Materials (NH) category anonymously at 19:18, Tue 2 September 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8110367.

There are no confirmed and approved road works that should still be happening on the A12 southbound, on the slip road leading up to the Brook Street roundabout (M25 junction) this left hand lane on the slip road has been closed for months, no workers actually in that lane and it’s been causing huge delays for months. There is no reason for the cones to still be blocking the left hand lane off and for it to still be closed. As confirmed, there are no approved lane closures still in action for this lane as the confirmation expired at the end of August. so the cones need to be removed and the lane finally opened as it is not approved to keep it closed.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways regarding the redundant traffic management equipment.

We will arrange for one of our local inspectors to investigate this. Where we have identified redundant equipment, this will be removed.

However, in some cases we do leave items in place for future use. Some isolated cones may also be in place for a specific purpose that may not be clear to passing vehicles.

    Kind regards National Highways
