Promotional sign on A27 eastbound verge

Reported via desktop in the Flyposting (NH) category anonymously at 19:23, Sun 31 August 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8099563.

Midpines Cafe at Denmans Garden have placed a promotional sign on the verge of the A27 eastbound, It is a large banner sign which obscures the view of traffic approaching from Fontwell when turning out of Denmans Lane to travel eastwards. It is harder to gauge speed of traffic accelerating from the roundabout due to the sign impeding part of the field of approach.

Perhaps they could be contacted and advised to apply for an additional brown tourist sign at the correct height as an alternative.

It has been in place for approx 10 days.

Updates

  • Thank you for your report and safety concerns for the positioning of the promotional sign installed on the A27 verge by Midpines Cafe.

Our safety inspection team have reviewed this and have spoken to the staff at the Cafe highlighting the potential safety issues the sign poses, requesting that they remove it as soon as possible.

We will monitor it's removal over the next few days & if it's not removed we will remove and destroy. The Cafe are aware of this.

Thank you again for bringing this to our attention.

    Kind regards
