Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8065143.

Travelled along M42 from Birmingham to Leicester and back today. St George's flags hung over at least 3 bridges. A disgrace to the country and the true meaning of a united England. An aggressive, unwarranted and unwanted message to all road users. Need to be removed immediately, brings shame to the region

  • Thank you for your report. We will insect the location. Currently, our approach is to leave the flags in place unless they are offensive or cause a hazard. We’ll continue to monitor this and remove the flags when appropriate.

    Kind regards,

    National Highways
