Traffic light sequencing

Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 13:08, Thu 21 August 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8056403.

Since your operatives were on site yesterday the timing sequence of the lights is having a huge detrimental effect on traffic approaching from the south. This morning, at 9.30am, the stationary queue stretched from the 'Asda roundabout' south as far as the roundabout interesecting with the B4399 (Grafton), approximately 2.75km. This caused lengthy delays for all road users and significant issues for public transport and emergency services. It is not school term time and (finally) there are no road works. Nor were there any broken down vehicles or incidents to creat such a delay. Please attend to the traffic light sequencing at this significant/major junction as a matter of urgency.
