M27 east/north Jct 3-4 CCTV camera broken

Reported via mobile in the Structures (eg bridges, fencing, noise barriers) (NH) category anonymously at 11:46, Thu 21 August 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8055910.

On the M27 eastbound/northbound between junctions 3 and 4, one of the CCTV cameras (as seen on the Traffic England site) has become broken and permanently pointed down. The vegetation in this location is quite overgrown so this may also need investigating. Appears to have been an issue for many months.

This is a frequently congested part of the motorway so this may impact people using the CCTV for traffic information, and also may impact the control centre as the camera is of no use for setting signs/signals as necessary.

The camera is at marker post 14.8A and has a structure number 9148A. What 3 Words reference ///officials.stitching.sounds this is a 4 lane plus hard shoulder section.
