The white lines to show you the left slip road are no longer visible, it has been this way for over 6 months

Reported via desktop in the Faded / Hard to see (NH) category anonymously at 15:51, Sun 17 August 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8036556.

They are barely visible, if they were painted here in the first place, why have they not been maintained? And, further along this road once you turn off the A12, where the petrol garage is there is a junction on the right opposite the garage, you recently had the surface renewed, however, it looks as though a large section has been torn away, possibly a HGV ? Further along, where the roundabout is in between the housing estate and Aldi/Lidl, the road markings have again, disappeared, and even further along, the road surface once again requires attention, Opposite Maltings Lane, dead centre in between the lanes.

Updates

  • Thank you for making your report. We have asked our inspection team to attend the slip road on the A12 to inspect the road markings.

If any work is needed, they will arrange for this to happen. Should no immediate work be required we will continue to monitor this during our regular inspections.

PLEASE NOTE: The B1389 once you have left the A12 slip road is owned and maintained by the local authority. Please contact them regarding the damaged road surface adjacent to the petrol garage and the road markings / road condition that you have highlighted adjacent to Aldi / Lidl and Maltings lane.

Although we always aim to complete repairs as quickly as possible, timescales do vary as we try to minimise disruption to customers by combining activities into single closures and always ensuring the safety of our people.

    Kind regards National Highways
