A-Frames - 40mph and 50mph Signage left

Reported via desktop in the Abandoned Materials (NH) category anonymously at 11:35, Thu 14 August 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8024662.

Similar to other reports listed here, one from May, another from June - This signage is still here. Restrictions have been in place since February. With a large number of people ignoring the restrictions, this is a very dangerous stretch of road. Please can the required work be carried out, or the signage removed until such a time that it can be? It's now been 6 months, which is surely enough time.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways regarding the traffic management equipment.

In some cases we do leave items in place for future use. Some isolated cones may also be in place for a specific purpose that may not be clear to passing vehicles.

On the A27 in this area, a temporary speed limit has been installed until repairs to a damaged parapet can be completed. The reduction in speed is to avoid any further accidents involving the public or any more damage to the parapet. We’re looking to complete a permanent repair at the earliest opportunity.

    Kind regards National Highways
