Path blocked by weeds which are hazardous to cyclists & walkers

Reported via mobile in the Pavement/footpath/cycleway/bridleway issue (NH) category anonymously at 21:08, Wed 13 August 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8022022.

This mile long path which runs along the A46 between Beckford and the turning towards Dumbleton is hazardous to use due to all the weeds growing on it. This problem was first flagged this spring, in early April, but here we are, almost 5 months on, and STILL nothing has been done!! In places, there is barely 30 cm of tarmac to ride on as the weeds have taken over. You have sat on your hands and done NOTHING. I expect by the time you get round to doing what should have been sorted many months ago, the busy season when this walkway is mostly used will be over & I will have to restart my complaints all over again next year!!! So frustrating. This evening, as well as the weeds, broken glass & litter which has to be negotiated, there were lumps of tarmac strewn on the path & verges, along with old cats eyes which your employees have just chucked onto the area whilst work has been carried out on this stretch of the A46 these last 3 days (& where the road has been closed overnight between the 11th & 13th of August. Such poor response from a national group. Shame on you.
