Conspiracy theory graffiti

Reported via mobile in the Graffiti (NH) category anonymously at 10:17, Sun 10 August 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8003572.

Location: Between Rattery and Ide roundabout on the A38. The whole route on both sides of the road have multiple cases of conspiracy theory graffiti on the back of the motorway signs (visible from the opposite side of the road) and on the bridges. Covers back of signage along whole route. Includes vaccination, covid, climate change and 5g slogans and offensive and worrying language. I can’t say if the problem is further reaching on the a38 but would be worth checking.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways about graffiti.

We aim to remove or cover offensive graffiti within 24 hours of our inspection.

Non-offensive graffiti is dealt with under planned cyclical works and therefore can take longer to remove.

We will arrange for our local inspector to look at this on his regular safety inspection of this route and they will arrange a suitable solution.

    Kind regards

    National Highways
