A frames, cones and a generic roadworks sign on footpath.

Reported via desktop in the Abandoned Materials (NH) category anonymously at 11:05, Friday 8 August 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7997118.

A frames, cones and a generic roadworks sign left on footpath between No 2 and No 6 Moor Lane. Been there since major roadworks closure on A52 in early spring and left for 2 further overnight closures shortly after. Now apparently abandoned (not knowingly been used for over 2 months), causing inconvenience to some footpath users, and now being used by pranksters to mislead.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways regarding the redundant traffic management equipment. We will arrange for one of our local inspectors to investigate this. Where we have identified redundant equipment, this will be removed. However, in some cases we do leave items in place for future use. Some isolated cones may also be in place for a specific purpose that may not be clear to passing vehicles. Kind regards National Highways
