Dangerous No Entry sign obscuring view. Junction Wingate Hill and A2050, Harbledown

Reported via desktop in the Sign Obscured (NH) category anonymously at 19:39, Thursday 7 August 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7995033.

Please refer to the original report no: FMS7788618. The Harbledown & Rough Common Parish Council, continues to receive complaints from residents about the obscured view of on coming traffic at the junction of Wingate Hill and the A2050. The Temporary No Entry Sign on the right hand side is too low for car drivers to see past. Despite your report that the view is clear we want further action taken. We request a joint visit to the site and that the sign is made permanent and raised. The current situation is dangerous.

Updates

  • Thank you for your report about the temporary No Entry signs and ongoing safety concerns.

This location is visited on a near daily basis and should the signs have been tampered with or moved by persons unknown, our inspectors will re-site them to a location providing drivers with clear visibility.

The location was most recently reviewed on 14 August when our inspectors were happy there were no safety issues.

Your request for permanent signs to be installed is recognised and has been passed to the relevant team for consideration.
