A27,Crockerhill juction with Nyton Road( B2233) ,West SussexThe bollard ( should be flourescent yellow facing but it had all peeled off with blue circle at top withe white keep left arrow within the blue circle) lt has been also damaged badly.lt is located on the South side of the dangerous Gap in the Central reservation on a traffic lsland which is at the end of Nyton Road( B2233). West Sussex County Council say it is not there responsibility but yours National Higjways ( l have an Email from them to that effect. Can this be treated ad a matter of Urgency please this is an extremely dangerous crossing Gap junction where there have been many fatalities & setious injuries and there are constant lesser collisions.,l personally witnessed a near collision l believe solely due to the useless condition of this Bollard. Please keep me updated & l would like an approximate timescale in which the works will be completed in.lt is not a big job ,simply removing 4 bolts holding it to the ground but consideration must be made for the Technicians undertaking the replacement ad this is an extremely high speed section & it is immediately afjacent to the A27 tarmac. Thankyou.

Thank you for your report and raising your concerns about the condition of the bollard at the Nyton Road crossover.
We have asked our inspection team to attend this location and assess the issue.
If any work is needed, they will arrange for this to happen. Should no immediate work be required we will continue to monitor this during our regular inspections.
Although we always aim to complete repairs as quickly as possible, timescales do vary as we try to minimise disruption to customers by combining activities into single closures and always ensuring the safety of our people.
