Requires maintenance

Reported via mobile in the Flooding/drainage (NH) category by Iain Perkins at 07:13, Tue 29 July 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7946635.

This attenuation pond requires maintenance as it no longer holds the capacity of run off it was constructed for, which during heavy rainfall allows water to build up across the A36 (Warminster bypass) and more importantly allows siltation to flooding into the River Wylye (a designated protected chalk river (SSSI) via the River Were. It needs to be returned to its original holding capacity.

Updates

  • Thank you for making your report. We have asked our drainage team to attend this location and assess the issue.

If any work is needed, they will arrange for this to happen. Should no immediate work be required we will continue to monitor this during our regular inspections.

Although we always aim to complete repairs as quickly as possible, timescales do vary as we try to minimise disruption to customers by combining activities into single closures and always ensuring the safety of our people.

    Kind regards
