Since approx 15th July 2025 the Noise Barrier on Parnaby Road has been left in a worse state than before. Please can you advise if the barrier is now going to be fully repainted and when this will take place? At the moment the barrier has large bright green patches all along its length and is an eye sore. But as residents we have not been notified of any work. The path in front of the barrier had work on it recently.

Thank you for your FixMyStreet submission to National Highways of 17 July regarding the Parnaby Road noise barrier.
As you are aware, when the Parnaby Road noise barrier was originally installed it was leaf green in colour. Subsequently, a substantial section of the noise barriers around M621 Junction 7 were repainted olive green at the request of residents however, some sections of leaf green barrier remain, including within the M621 central reserve.
During a site visit with a resident on Monday 16 June it was noted that the leaf green barrier in the M621 central reserve had been graffitied. Our contractors were instructed to address the graffiti and unfortunately, some isolated sections of the olive green barrier in Parnaby Road which were also impacted by graffiti, were also painted leaf green at the same time.
We can confirm that our contractor will be returning to re-paint the affected sections of the noise barrier in Parnaby Road, olive-green. We currently have no plans to repaint the entire barrier in Parnaby Road.
With reference as to why residents were not notified in advance of our recent works to address graffiti on the Parnaby Road noise barrier, this was standard maintenance work which we hope to undertake more regularly going forward. As the impact of such works is limited, ordinarily we would not provide advance notification.
Kind Regards
