Graffiti on Motorway overhead gantry signs.

Reported via desktop in the Graffiti (NH) category by Glenn Eves at 15:22, Thu 17 July 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7893654.

There is Graffiti on the overhead gantry signs on the approach to Portsmouth on the A27 West bound carriageway. The graffiti is on two separate gantries giving directions to the eastern approach etc, just before the Farlington roundabout slip road. This is major graffiti and not minor, as it completely obliterates the majority of the signage. The issue has been there for at least two weeks.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways about graffiti.

We aim to remove or cover offensive graffiti within 24 hours of our inspection.

Non-offensive graffiti is dealt with under planned cyclical works and therefore can take longer to remove.

We will arrange for our local inspector to look at this on his regular safety inspection of this route and they will arrange a suitable solution.

    Kind regards

    National Highways
