Damaged Bollards / Verge

Reported via desktop in the Pavement/footpath/cycleway/bridleway issue (NH) category anonymously at 12:39, Wed 16 July 2025

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7886684.

Back in November last year we reported the bollards surround the 'police only' bay outside the NISA shop had been knocked over and vehicles were driving across the grass verge and bumping down the curb to get back on the road / roundabout. This was crudely remedied but has since been damaged further. The grass verge is now heavily damaged as 4x4 vehicles are again taking to the verge to exit and there is also a danger as these vehicles are joining the carriageway not from the correct egress point at the shop. Can these posts be reinstated correctly to ensure people exit correctly and give the verge time to recover before winter.

Updates

  • Thank you for making your report. We've asked our inspection team to attend this location and assess the issue.

If any work is needed, they'll arrange for this to happen. Should no immediate work be required we'll continue to monitor this during our regular inspections.

Although we always aim to complete repairs as quickly as possible, timescales do vary as we try to minimise disruption to customers by combining activities into single closures and always ensuring the safety of our people.

    Kind regards
